Who the Quartz template suits
Modern professional roles wanting light, clean structure — boxed headings with plenty of air around them.
What to watch out for
Airy boxes are elegant and hungry for space. Not a layout for a fifteen-year career.
How much fits on one page
This layout spends space deliberately, so it holds less than most. That works in your favour early in a career, where a densely packed page reads as padding — and against you after about a decade, when you may need the tighter text-size setting in the builder to stay on one page.
Quartz and applicant tracking systems
Quartz is a single column, which is the arrangement applicant tracking systems read most reliably. A parser walks the page top to bottom and gets your sections in the order you wrote them. Nothing about this template needs adjusting before you upload it to a job portal.
Where in the world to send the Quartz template
Comfortable in modern professional hiring across the US, UK, Nordics, Netherlands and Australia. The airy boxes need room, so it suits markets where a two-page CV is normal more than the strict US one-page convention.

Quartz template questions
Why do the boxed headings need so much space?
Each box carries its own border and padding, and airy density adds space around it — the two compound. That is what produces the light, clean effect, and it is why this is not a layout for a fifteen-year career.
How is this different from Modern?
Modern is normal density with a ranged-left header; Quartz is airy with a centred header and a monogram. Same boxed sectioning, but Quartz reads lighter and more personal, and holds noticeably less.
Is a centred monogram too formal for a startup application?
It reads as considered rather than corporate, which lands reasonably well almost anywhere. Where it genuinely misfits is heavily informal, product-led hiring where any monogram reads as effortful. Minimal or Pill are more at home in that room.
