What to watch out for
The accent band is a large area of colour. In a conservative sector it can read as louder than the role warrants.
How much fits on one page
Capacity is middle of the road: comfortable for five to ten years of experience on a single page. Beyond that, drop the text size a notch in the builder rather than cutting a role.

Banner is a single column, which is the arrangement applicant tracking systems read most reliably. A parser walks the page top to bottom and gets your sections in the order you wrote them. Nothing about this template needs adjusting before you upload it to a job portal.

Banner template questions
Is a coloured banner unprofessional?
It depends entirely on the sector, not on the design. In sales, business development, marketing and agency work a banner matches the register of the job. In audit, law, government and academia it reads as louder than the role warrants — Classic or Corporate fit those better.
Does the banner print well?
On a colour printer, yes. In monochrome it becomes a solid grey block, which still reads as a header but loses the effect. If the printed copy matters, test one page, or choose Top Bar, which uses far less ink for a similar framing.
Will the colour banner print badly on an office printer?
On a decent laser printer it prints as intended. On a heavily toner-saving or black-and-white office machine it becomes a mid-grey band, which is still legible but loses the point. If you know the application will be printed and passed around, Underline or Top Bar give hierarchy that survives any printer.
