How much fits on one page
This is one of the higher-capacity layouts here. The compressed spacing buys you several extra lines, so a ten-to-fifteen year career usually still lands on one page.
Compact and applicant tracking systems
Compact is a single column, which is the arrangement applicant tracking systems read most reliably. A parser walks the page top to bottom and gets your sections in the order you wrote them. Nothing about this template needs adjusting before you upload it to a job portal.
Where in the world to send the Compact template
Most useful where a one-page limit is enforced — the US convention below senior level, and most campus placement processes in India. Less necessary for UK, German, Australian or Irish applications, where a two-page CV is standard and the density buys you nothing you needed.

Roughly a fifth more, depending on your content. Tight density is the most capacity available here without reducing the text size, which is the better lever to pull first — shrinking type below a readable size costs you more than a second page would.
Is a dense resume harder to read?
Yes, and that is the trade. Compact only works if your bullets are genuinely short; long ones turn the page into a wall that a recruiter skims past. Cut the writing first, then choose the dense layout — not the other way round.
How much can I actually fit on one page with this?
Comfortably around eighteen to twenty years of history, or five to six roles with three bullets each, before legibility suffers. It is built for people whose problem is too much rather than too little. Do not use the tight density to force a two-page career onto one page at 8pt — two clean pages always beat one crowded one.
