How much fits on one page
This is one of the higher-capacity layouts here. The sidebar absorbs skills and certifications that would otherwise eat into the main column, so a ten-to-fifteen year career usually still lands on one page.
Chronicle and applicant tracking systems
Chronicle places Skills, Languages and Certifications in a sidebar beside your experience. Parsers read straight across a page rather than down a column, so a skill from the sidebar can land in the middle of a sentence about your last job. That does not make the template unusable — it makes it a design for human readers. Send this one when a person opens your application directly, and download the Word version for anything that goes through a portal, because that export is always single column whichever template you picked.

Chronicle template questions
How long a career does this actually handle?
Fifteen to twenty-five years comfortably. The sidebar absorbs Skills, Certifications and Languages so the main column carries only the narrative, which is what makes a long history readable rather than merely long.
Should older roles get the same detail?
No. Give the last ten years real bullets and compress everything earlier to title, employer and dates on a single line. Chronicle is built for exactly that taper — the sidebar keeps supporting detail visible so the early roles do not need to carry any.
Why pair a timeline with two columns?
Because a long history needs both a visual thread and somewhere to put the short lists. The rail carries the chronology down the main column while skills and certifications sit beside it. It is the densest way to present a long career legibly — at the cost of ATS safety, so keep the Word export for portals.
