Notice the shape: years of experience, then one specific result with a number in it, then what you are known for. Three sentences is enough.

Adapt these to work you have genuinely done — the numbers must be yours.

Lead with budget size and team size. Those two numbers decide which band of role you are considered for.

If you hold PMP, PRINCE2 or CSM, put it in your summary line as well as the certifications section.

Name the methodology the advert names. Do not write "Agile" if they wrote "Scrum".
Mistakes to avoid on a project manager resume

Describing the project instead of your management of it. The reader wants the budget you held, the people you coordinated and the decision you made when it slipped.

No budget or team size anywhere. A £40k internal tool and a £4M platform programme are different jobs with the same title.

Claiming "on time and under budget" for everything. Nothing runs clean, and a resume where everything did reads as unexamined — name one that slipped and what you did about it.

Methodology soup. Listing Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, PRINCE2, SAFe and Kanban together suggests exposure to all and command of none.

Entry level
Project coordinator with two years supporting delivery for a 15-person software team. Ran the sprint ceremonies, kept the risk log, and coordinated the release calendar across three dependent teams. CSM certified and working toward PMP.
Senior
Programme manager with 13 years delivering regulated financial platforms. Currently accountable for a £6M multi-year migration with 40 people across four vendors, recovered after a nine-week slip by renegotiating scope with the steering committee. PMP and PRINCE2 Practitioner.

Questions
What should a project manager put on a resume?
Lead with a summary that names your years of experience and your single strongest result. Then work experience with one measurable achievement per bullet, followed by skills using the exact terms from the job advert. For this role, employers screen most often for: project management, stakeholder management, budget, risk management, agile.
What if my projects were not delivered on time or budget?
Say what you recovered. Projects go wrong constantly and every experienced sponsor knows it — a candidate who describes a recovery, with what slipped and what they did about it, reads as more credible than one whose every project apparently went perfectly.
Should I list my certifications prominently?
Name PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent in the summary line, then let it go. It is a screening checkbox rather than an argument. The resume is won on budget, headcount and delivered outcomes, and space spent on methodology is space not spent on those.
