How to write a resume that gets read
1. Lead every bullet with a verb and end it with a number
“Responsible for reporting” tells a recruiter nothing. “Automated month-end reporting, cutting close time from 9 days to 2” tells them exactly what you are worth. Numbers are the fastest way to prove impact, and most applicants leave them out.
2. Match the words in the job advert
Applicant tracking systems search for specific terms. If the advert says “stakeholder management” and your resume says “working with teams”, the software may not connect them. Use their exact wording where it is honestly true of you, then check the result with our free ATS checker.
3. Keep it to one page until you have about ten years of experience
A recruiter spends seconds on the first pass. One dense, relevant page beats two padded ones. Use the Compact layout and the text size slider if you are slightly over.
4. Prefer a single column
Two-column designs look sharper to a human but can confuse older parsing software, which sometimes reads straight across the page and scrambles your history. Our two-column layouts are marked with a warning symbol so you can decide with the facts.

Do I need an account to use the resume builder?
No. There is no signup, no email address and no password. Open the builder and start typing. Your work saves automatically inside your own browser.
How do I download my resume as a PDF?
Press Download PDF. Your browser opens its print window — choose "Save as PDF" as the destination and set Margins to None. The file is saved straight to your device with no watermark.
Will my resume be saved if I close the tab?
Yes. It is stored in your browser, so it is waiting for you when you return on the same device and browser. Use "Save data" to export a file if you want to move it to another computer.
Is my personal information uploaded anywhere?
No. The builder runs entirely inside your browser. Your name, contact details and work history are never sent to our servers, and we never sell data to recruiters.
